Independent Contractor Agreement
By signing this agreement, I acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions.
Independent Contractor Status
I understand that I am an independent contractor and not an employee of MAD Haul Movers, LLC.
As an independent contractor:

I am responsible for my own taxes and tax reporting.

I am not eligible for employee benefits, workers' compensation, unemployment benefits, paid leave, or other employee-related benefits.

I have the right to accept or decline any job offered.

I may perform services for other companies.
Assumption of Risk
I understand that moving furniture, loading trucks, junk removal, lifting heavy objects, climbing stairs, using tools, and working outdoors involve inherent risks of injury.
By accepting work through MAD Haul Movers, I voluntarily assume these risks.
I agree to use safe lifting techniques, appropriate protective equipment, and exercise reasonable care while performing services.
Release of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I agree that MAD Haul Movers, LLC, its owners, managers, and clients shall not be responsible for injuries, illnesses, or property damage resulting from the ordinary risks associated with performing contracted work.
This release does not apply to liability that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
Insurance
I understand that I am responsible for obtaining and maintaining any personal health, disability, accident, or liability insurance I choose to carry.
MAD Haul Movers does not provide workers' compensation coverage or health insurance to independent contractors unless otherwise required by law.
Pay Structure
(Compensation is determined based on the size, complexity, and responsibility of each job.)
Standard Moving & Junk Removal Jobs
For larger jobs, contractors are paid:
Crew Members

First 4 hours: $125–$175

Additional hours after the first 4 hours: $25–$40 per hour
Crew Leads
-
First 4 hours: $150–$200

Additional hours after the first 4 hours: $35–$50 per hour
Final pay is determined before the job begins based on factors including:

Job difficulty
-
Distance traveled
-
Heavy or specialty items
-
Crew responsibilities
-
Customer requirements
-
Overall scope of work
Small Jobs
For quick jobs:

Up to 45 minutes: $50
-
Up to 1.5 hours: $75

Up to 2 hours: $100
-
Every additional hour after 2 hours: +$25 per hour
Conduct
I agree to:
-
Arrive on time.
-
Treat customers with professionalism and respect.
-
Follow directions from the assigned Crew Lead.

Handle customer property carefully.
-
Immediately report any damage, injury, or safety concern.
-
Refrain from alcohol or illegal drug use before or during work.
Payment
Payment is generally issued after the job has been completed and verified.
I understand that compensation may vary depending on the agreed pay scale for each individual job.
Agreement
